Maybe Life's Not Perfect

Ever taken a moment, just to think about you? Stop, maybe go back to your last conversation and follow your thinking. Where did that reaction come from, how did I end up to that topic. When you look into yourself like that, it's amazing what you can realize. Overall it strengthens your convictions about you as a person.

Knowing who you are, and where you stand, is the mystery of being a teenager. It's the point in our lives where we decide, exactly who are we. Thing is, it's such a scary trip, honestly. Finding out who you really are is so intimidating, especially because we're afraid of what we might find. Will I actually like who I am, what I'm becoming. That reason alone is why figuring those things out is so crucial. If we want to become good, decent people, we have to look into ourselves. We have to face our demons, our faults, our weaknesses. Scarier yet is having to embrace them. Apart from giving us individuality, our faults push us to be better people, we grow only because of them.

That's my biggest fear: taking a long hard at look and who I am, and knowing that I can't stand myself. If that happens, it means I've failed myself. Everything in my life, every challenge, experience, or person, was wasted because I failed to learn from them. The ultimate rejection, is your own. That is the true meaning of fear.
